Not the best place to put a boat in, especially for an inexperienced boater. Shallow water.
Great family oriented place, the guy that runs it is super nice and friendly, they really watch the place and I have saw when they see someone there that shouldn't be. Thanks for such a nice place

I went out on the Blue Moon in January 2012 for the Sandhill Crane Birdwatching trips. We went up the Tennessee River from Sale Creek and toured the reserve and recreation areas by boat. In the Armstrong Ferry Recreation area, we must have seen several thousand Sandhill Cranes, and there was a Whooping Crane with them, too. Great trip - beautiful area. I highly recommend the Blue Moon as well (although it is based out of Chattanooga most of the year).
